Hubol actively released six games already in 2026
Did you know Hubol has actively been releasing games recently?
Did you know Hubol has actively been releasing games recently? He has surprisingly published six games already since the beginning of this year. Each of them are mostly bite-sized, but also filled with unique charms and humorous mechanics that invite us to his whimsical playful worlds.
Hubol is a U.S. based solo developer who has been creating games since his pre-teen. He also makes music on his own (you can even listen to his soft voice singing and voice acting in some works), which brings more organic tastes to all the Hubol games.
Hubol released three more games after posting this video.
When you dive into his cute little digital gardens, you will meet various kinds of small-statured cartoonish characters with large heads and eyes. They live in cultures and customs supposedly similar to ours, but slightly different in many parts. There are Christmas and Valentine's Day, birthdays of someones, and even a latke night.
Every single event above becomes the stage of recent Hubol games that celebrates special moments. Some situations are deeply personal and make us feel as if we were peeking at pretty intimate scenes in their ordinary lives. While those characters are obviously fictional looking, they illuminate specific layers of our realities which we might be unaware of or likely unable to speak aloud bound by socially constructed manners. So let’s have a brief look at what those six games are like.
Cole and Hubol's Christmas Adventure DX

An exception among other bite-sized games, there are much broader worlds with lots of hidden secrets to explore. I’ve played it for over two hours but have yet to see the bottom.
As opposed to its lovely visuals, this game is supposed to be created for the mature players (definitely not for the children as Hubol says). You are tasked to complete many kinds of unconventional quests such as picking a bikini fruit and baking them into pies, making some lubes for the magic spells and so on.
It seems to take a bit of time to develop each skill level, but the whole setting and atmosphere drives me to be really curious about what happens next. I’m going to find more opportunities to visit this wild adventure and hopefully let myself see the ending by the next Christmas season. (Play here)
Oddwarg's Birthday 2026

A birthday game made for Oddwarg who is a game maker, musician, also has been Hubol's good friend and mentor (if I captured their relationships correctly).
You play the role of a cat to collect the “cursed number fruit” randomly generated in three different areas. Some of the fruit has positive or multiply numbers while others subtracts or negatively multiplies your current points. The goal is to gain as many points and let Hubol gamble with them, so the various kinds of rewards to appreciate will be added to your collection room.
A silly twisted merge of platformer, mathematics and gambling has stunningly humorous vibes that delivers us a truly unique experience. Happy birthday Oddwarg! (Play here)
Kitty on the Run

A delightful interactive music video that you walk around a greenery planet as a guardian kitty and eat space-treats. You can listen to Hubol singing when the candy counters are filled. (Play here)
Lottie!

Hubol’s another birthday game (Happy birthday Lottie!). She went to a store just before its closing time to buy some books about women. You carefully need to push and pull a shopping cart to avoid brown poops getting mixed in.
In the latter part, you help her reading by pressing a key like a rhythm game. Her little progress is shown as the score at the end, and the blessing musical moments await. (Play here)
Let's Hear It For The Boys!

A game to undress the boys with your mouse controls which was made for Valentine’s Day. It’s quite satisfying to get naked as an expression of celebration, even for a commercialized custom. The game also allows you to make your own custom outfits to strip off. (Play here)
Cooking Misha

A game for the latke night. As Misha can’t walk while holding items, you need to walk between the kitchen and the farm repeatedly moving ingredients and tools around. So the control systems are pretty annoying and messy, but also remind us of the complexities in the process of cooking and anticipation of the excitement until the dinner is served and ready. Well, that was quite a number of works though, Hubol’s new releases are always with fresh joys of playing video games as digital toys and senses of fun located somewhere between adults and children.
Hubol also explains the reason why he has been so productive these days while washing the dishes. According to the video, he recently quit his main job for a software company and now he is aiming to focus more on his game making.
So expectingly we would be witnessing another of his releases in the near future and I can’t wait to play the next Hubol games. Most of them are free to play, but you can still purchase his past works or donate to him on itch.io to support his adorable creations.
